TinkerTool System for Mac offers many features that power-users will find appealing. The entire process takes between ten seconds and a minute to complete. TinkerTool System is a collection of system utility features helping you in performing advanced administration tasks on Apple Macintosh computers. The automatic maintenance scripts, which let you choose between a daily, weekly, and monthly schedule to automatically delete temporary and unused files, thus reclaiming lost storage space, are also great. During our tests we were impressed by the "Emergency Tool," which adds a recovery mode to the operating system, triggered by holding down CMD+S during system startup. Once the app is up and running, you will be presented with an interface that is inspired by the Mac System Preferences app and that adjusts itself to only display settings, applicable to the hardware you're using. Starting Evaluation Mode requires Internet connectivity. TinkerTool System for Mac asks for an administrator password prior to first launch, after which it lets you use either the full app five times (Evaluation Mode) or a limited version indefinitely (Demo Mode). This premium tool includes features ranging from the essential and system-saving to the highly specialized and obscure, all packed in a small app with an instantly familiar interface. (Use the pop-up preview to see the contents of untitled windows.) * A new slider controls how long Witch will wait for slow-responding applications before giving up and displaying the switcher panel without those programs' windows. * Now displays untitled windows from many applications-including Mail drafts without subject lines, and Elgato's applications. Witch can take a little bit getting used to, especially for users not comfortable with keyboard shortcuts, however once you have gotten the hang of it you should really feel better control over your applications and windows. Instead choose a few triggers that you will likely use often. ![]() The real trick when using Witch is to not get lost in all your keyboard shortcuts. ![]()
